PTI workers clash with police in Shangla, 3 dead

PTI workers refused to accept election results

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tehsil Shangla was the scene of intense clashes between police and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers on Friday which left three people dead and 10 injured.

Syed Fareen Khan, a PTI-backed independent who contested the election from NA-11, rejected the results issued by the returning officer which led to a protest by the party.

The protestors said that the election results were delayed in order to manipulate them. They allegedly set fire to a government-owned vehicle as well.

The PTI workers blocked the Besham to Swat road and said that the protest would continue until the elections were acknowledged to be rigged.

Firing took place after law-enforcement officials arrived on the scene, leaving three people dead and 10 injured.

The injured party workers have been shifted to Saidu teaching hospital.
