Cypher case: Special Court extends Qureshi’s remand by 2 days
A Special Court on Monday approved the extension of PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s physical remand for another two days after his three-day extension of remand expired in the US cypher case.
Earlier, Qureshi was produced before the special court in the US cypher case.
Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain conducted in-camera hearing on the case.
Qureshi’s lawyer Shoaib Shaheen and Babar Awan and FIA prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi appeared before the court.
Qureshi’s physical remand was extended on August 25 for three days in the case under Sections 5 and 9 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923. He had been produced before the court after the expiry of his initial physical remand for four days.
The PTI vice chairman on August 26 moved the Islamabad High Court to declare orders pertaining to his physical remand “null and void.”
