Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Kunwar Naveed Jamil passed away on Thursday. He had been in a coma since June 2022.

He was hospitalised last June after suffering a brain hemorrhage last June and had eventually gone into a coma.

After spending many months in hospital, he was briefly shifted home in 2023. However, he was shifted to the hospital again after his condition deteriorated.

He was elected to the Sindh Assembly in 2018 and the National Assembly in 2015.

Jamil served as the party’s deputy convener as well as the mayor of Hyederabad.
