Iranian Parliament Speaker Bagher Ghalibaf on Sunday warned the US to honour its commitments under the Pakistan-brokered ceasefire agreement, saying Washington would “pay the price” if it continued to violate the deal.

In a post on X, Ghalibaf said the era of “one-sided deals” was over, accusing the US of breaching the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Tehran and Washington.

“The era of one-sided deals is OVER. We told you: keep your word or pay the price. Reality is knocking,” Ghalibaf wrote.

The senior Iranian official also highlighted Article 5 of the 14-point MoU, which states that arrangements for reopening the Strait of Hormuz are to be made by Iran.

Iranian speaker’s remarks came as tensions mounted following fresh US strikes on southern Iran and Tehran’s retaliatory missile and drone attacks on US military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain.
