Dar urges US, Iran to de-escalate, show restraint
1 min readDeputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday stressed upon the US and Iran to follow the path of de-escalation and show restraint, as agreed in the Islamabad MoU in June.
Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a statement.
Both leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation.
Ishaq Dar further underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
“The DPM/FM reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to continue playing a constructive role in promoting and maintaining regional peace and stability,” the statement added.
The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact.
