Renowned businessman Byram D Avari passes away in Karachi
Prominent businessman and two-time Asian Games gold medalist Byram Dinshawji Avari passed away at the age of 81 on Sunday.
Confirming his death, Avari’s family sources said that he had been ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. He left behind three children.
His family said that Avari’s last rites will be performed on Monday afternoon at Khorshed Villa, inside the compound of the Beach Luxury Hotel.
Byram was a prominent Pakistani businessman based in Karachi. He was the owner and chairman of Avari Group of Companies
Byram Avari was a national-level sailor and won two Asian Games gold medals for Pakistan in 1978 (with Munir Sadiq) and 1982 (with his wife Goshpi Avari).
