QUETTA: All the educational institutions in Balochistan would reopen from tomorrow (Monday), the provincial government said. But the decision for Naseerabad and Jaffarabad districts would be taken later after reviewing the flood situation.

“All schools and colleges will reopen from September 5 which were closed for two weeks amid heavy rainfall and flood in most parts of the province,” Balochistan’s Education Minister Naseebullah Marri said in a statement on Saturday.

Flash floods driven by heavy rains have killed 1,290 people, including 259 in Balochistan, since mid-June, said the National Disaster Management Authority data. Around 1,164 houses have been damaged in the province.
