Pakistani dramas do really well in India, as seen by the airing of Zindagi Gulzar Hai in 2014. The drama created almost a cult-like following across the border, prompting Zee TV to run it again in May 2022.

Seeing the success of the drama and the original series created in collaboration between India and Pakistan, Zee Zindagi has just bought the rights to air Mahira Khan starrer Sadkey Tumharey and Aunn Zara featuring Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt.

Sadqay Tumhare was written by Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar and directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin. It is a love story from the 1980s, which is loosely based on Qamar’s life experiences. Adnan Malik (playing Khalil) and Mahira (Shano) are engaged when they are very young but eventually lose touch when Malik goes to live in the city. The drama is the story of their relationship and how it comes to blossom against all odds.

Aunn Zara starring Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt shows a married couple that is spoiled by their respective families. They spend the entire drama trying to escape their family’s attention.
