In an emergency political meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Thursday, the party members agreed to call the National Assembly session to take up the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan on March 21 (Monday).

The prime minister chaired the meeting, which was attended by NA Speaker Asad Qaiser as well asother senior members of the PTI.

During the meeting, the premier tasked Defence Minister Pervaiz Khatak and Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to hold meetings with dissident members of the party in order to bring them back into the fold. As per reports, the premier remarked that no lawmaker would be allowed to engage in "horse-trading".

The members of the meeting discussed the no-confidence motion in detail, including the legal issues related to the constitutional move and the dissident lawmakers of the party. A detailed report on the no-trust move was also presented in the meeting.

The members were also briefed on the activities happening inside the Sindh House in Islamabad, labelling them "horse trading" and saying such activities would not be allowed to succeed. The departments concerned were directed to consider various legal options related to the no-trust move with instructions for federal government agencies concerned to keep a close eye on activities happening in the Sindh House through CCTV and get details of the missing MNAs of the party.

It was also suggested that a parliamentary meeting of the PTI would be called to identify the attendance of the party MNAs as well as missing members of the ruling party.

Meanwhile, it was suggested that the premier should conduct meetings with government allies. At this, the prime minister said he had scheduled meetings with the PTI allies and more such meetings would be held in the future.
