PDM rallies toward Parliament House ahead of vote on key bills
Ahead of voting in the National Assembly on mini-budget and the controversial State Bank of Pakistan (Amendment) Bill 2021 on Thursday (today), the Pakistan Democratic Movement has started a rally towards the Parliament House, reported Aaj News.
A large number of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers attended the rally, while the security officials have closed all the roads leading to Red Zone from Express Chowk and Nadra Chowk.
Islamabad police advised those needing to travel to Red Zone to use Ayub Chowk and Margalla road.
On Wednesday the PDM leaders said they expected a new wave of inflation due to the supplementary finance bill presented by the government.
The government had tabled the two bills, SBP (Amendment Bill) 2021 and Finance Supplementary Bill 202, to fulfil the requirement imposed by the International Monetary Fund for the resumption of $6 billion Extended Fund Facility to Pakistan.
