It only took two days for Pakistani Twitter to get its first meme courtesy actor Adnan Siddiqui whose selfie against a backdrop of a blaze from busted drugs and alcohol inspired the material.

He posted a video of himself as part of a team that attended a "destruction ceremony of confiscated goods" organised by the Customs (Enforcement) Karachi. In a slideshow of videos, men prepare to torch the narcotics as well as bulldoze over alcohol bottles -- both of which are illegal substances in Pakistan.

It's the last image of a selfie that caught social media attention and soon Twitter was flooded with memes.

Comparison to the disaster girl meme had to be made.

The same was true for a host of political commentary.

Unfortunately, the PTI government was the butt of most of the memes' material.

Siddiqui's selfie seemed to reflect leaders' disconnect with ground realities.

Then there were those who shared less political and more personal feels.

Incidentally, a video of Siddiqui destroying alcohol bottles as part of that ceremony was widely shared on Twitter on Sunday which attracted quite a lot of attention, though nothing of the hilarity we've seen in the memes.

While some users praised the actor for destroying the bottles and sending a positive message to young people to stay away from illegal substances, others questioned the need to destroy things because society doesn't agree with them.

One user clearly couldn't help but poke some fun at Siddiqui after that video.
