Pakistan reports 4,950 new Covid cases, 65 deaths
As Sindh goes into lockdown on Saturday in a bid to curb the surge in coronavirus, the country recorded close to 5,000 new cases. The country's positivity rate now stands at 8.46% up from the previous day's 7.79%.
65 people died in the last 24 hours bringing the total tally of deaths to Covid to 23,360.
The active cases of Covid in the country are 66,287 according to NCOC.
According to a province-wise breakdown, the total number of cases in Punjab has reached 356,211 in Sindh it is 380,093, in KP it stands at 143,673, in Islamabad it is 87,304, 30,289 in Balochistan, 24,145 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 8,096 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Sindh has imposed a lockdown in the hope that 9 days of restricted movements will allow them to contain the virus.
