PDM leaders to meet in Lahore today to decide the future course of the movement
2 min readThe leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) are holding an important meeting today at Jati Umra in Lahore to make final decisions regarding the future course of the resistance movement against the Imran Khan-led government.
The meeting will be attended in person by PDM and JUI-F chief Fazal-ur-Rehman, vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz, and other prominent leaders from the allied parties including Jamiat Ulema Pakistan head Shah Owais Noorani and Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and Hashim Babar from the Qaumi Watan Party. However, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Ali Zardari will attend the meeting through a video link.
The opposition alliance will take decisions regarding submission of en masse resignations from the assemblies and contesting the Senate elections and by-polls. The meeting has assumed significance after the PPP announced to take part in the election process.
Fazal-ur-Rehman refuses to hold a grand national dialogue with the government:
PDM chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman on Thursday rejected Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) leader Muhammad Ali Durrani’s offer to hold a grand national dialogue with the government.
According to the details, Durrani offered to initiate a grand national dialogue with the government when he and the JUI-F chief met on Thursday in the backdrop of an important PDM meeting scheduled for today. The meeting was held at the resident of JUI-F leader Riaz Durrani
However, the JUI chief rejected the offer and stated that no talks can be held with the 'incompetent and unelected government.
