Suspected target killer killed, two injured in shootout
—File PhotoKARACHI: A suspected target killer was killed and two others injured after encounter with police in Korangi area of the city in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to details, SIU's police team conducted a targeted raid at a house in Meharan town where a suspected target killer, Abid alias Chota and his accomplice opened fire on police team which was also retaliated. During exchange of fire the target killer suffered bullet injuries and killed on the spot, while his accomplice managed to flee from the scene. The deceased was stated to be involved in target killing of a policeman.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
Separately, a patrolling police team signaled two suspected criminals riding a motorbike in Korangi's Muhammad Khan Goth, but they tried to flee. The police opened fire in which they sustained bullet injuries.
The accused were identified as Yasir, aged 24 and Waqas, 22, and were shifted to JPMC for treatment.—PPI
