A gas cylinder explosion in a house in Loher Colony, Larkana, under the jurisdiction of Haidari Police Station, caused a wall and roof to collapse, severely damaging three neighbouring homes and leaving a woman and a child dead, with 16 others injured.

Rescue teams and police arrived at the scene soon after the blast.

The injured were pulled from the debris and transported to the Trauma Centre Hospital for emergency treatment.

Doctors reported that a 45-year-old woman and a child succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

Among the injured, two are in critical condition, while four have been transferred to Karachi for specialised care.

The remaining victims continue to receive treatment in Larkana.

Officials said the explosion caused significant structural damage, highlighting safety concerns regarding domestic gas usage.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the blast.
