WEB DESK: You may have heard about anti-bacterial soaps that they are specifically designed to fight against germs that cause severe diseases.

These soaps are made with different chemicals but it is now found out that these products are not anything greater than regular soaps and water. And, these chemical filled soap might harm you in other way.

Over 200 scientist and medical professionals agreed on current issue of the U.S. National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ flagship journal, Environmental Health Perspectives regarding Florence Statement on Triclosan and Triclocarban, that such chemicals are dangerous, ineffective working against bacteria plus, are harming people and environment.

Director of the Arizona State University Biodesign Center for Environmental Security and lead author of the Florence Statement, Rolf Halden says,"This is a case study of the many things that can go wrong when formulating consumer products. To start out with, it’s a chemical that contains dioxin—a potent toxic carcinogen. When you use the chemical, it is mostly ineffective in protecting from germs, and instead actually may increase microbial risks by producing bacteria that are cross-resistant to antibiotics your doctor prescribes to save lives. It increases susceptibility to allergies. When released into water or soil, it persists for long periods of time and forms additional dioxins. When it is burned, it produces the most toxic forms of dioxin known."

Moreover, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned triclosan and triclocarban back in September 2016 but that does not mean our soaps are any safer as they have other chemicals. PhD, Executive Director of Green Science Policy Institute, Arlene Blum says,"I was happy that the FDA finally acted to remove these chemicals from soaps." adding,"But I was dismayed to discover at my local drugstore that most products now contain substitutes that may be worse."

Although these chemicals are ineffective and are banning from being used in soap but still they are present in products, in daily wear, in the offices and in other daily life stuff which is not safe human health and as well as for environment.
