Leeches

Leeches were used to suck bad blood from the body. But in the modern times, leeches do not have a place in medicines but they are used in certain types of surgeries by promoting blood flow and preventing clotting.

Meth

It is a white crystalline drug that is used to induce “wakefulness” in soldiers. It has also been used foe loss weight.

Female Hysteria Treatment

Female hysteria was cured with high pressure hoses, vibrators, and pelvic massages for hundreds of years.

Soothing syrup

Soothing syrups were full of morphine, used to deal with the disobedient children in 19^th century.

Lobotomies

This technique was developed in 1940’s. Lobotomy would involve scraping away pieces of brain and damage its’ tissues overcome certain psychiatric anxiety. The procedure was to make a hole in the skull and inject ethanol.
