Junaid Jamshed's funeral prayers to be held on Thursday
ISLAMABAD: The body of Pakistani singer-turned preacher Junaid Jamshed, who lost his life in PIAs December 7 air crash, has been identified, said Deputy Commissioner Islamabad.Â
According to latest local media reports, "The body was identified with the help of samples from teeth and x-rays of his face," said Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Capt (r) Mushtaq Ahmed.
Last week, Jamshed was travelling from Chitral to Islamabad in flight PK-661 when the aircraft crashed near Abbottabad, killing all 48 people on board.
Junaid Jamsheds brother Humayun Jamshed told media that the singer-turned-preachers funeral prayers will be held on Thursday in Moin Khan Academy DHA and he will be buried in Darul Uloom Korangi. Humayun Jamshed claimed that Junaid had expressed desire to be buried in Darul Uloom Karachi, a religious seminary, local media reported.
Today, a six-member team from the ATR Company arrived in Islamabad to probe the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) PK-661 crash. The team comprises manufacturing, crash scene and other experts.
