Pakistan to mark 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam in 2026
Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal announced on Monday that 2026 will be declared the “Year of Quaid-e-Azam” to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The announcement came during a National Committee meeting in Islamabad, attended by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
Iqbal said a sub-committee would be formed to finalise the programme of events and submit recommendations within five days. He stressed the importance of a coordinated and well-structured strategy to ensure the commemorations are meaningful and memorable.
“The vision of Quaid-e-Azam continues to guide Pakistan. His principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline will be highlighted throughout the celebrations,” Iqbal said.
He also revealed plans to produce a high-quality drama series on Quaid-e-Azam’s life, showcasing his political struggle, leadership during the independence movement, and historic role in the creation of Pakistan.
