Renowned Scholar, TV host Obaidullah Baig passes away

KARACHI: Eminent scholar, writer and television host Obaidullah Baig passed away in Karachi Friday morning.

The veteran was a famous Urdu writer, novelist, columnist and media expert from Karachi, private news channel reported.

Obaidullah Baig teamed up with Iftikhar Arif in 1970s and then with Ghazi Salahuddin and Quraish Pur in 1990s and won renown for the famous quiz show "Kasauti".

He was awarded a 'Pride of Performance' (August 14, 2008) for his achievements in the Pakistani media.

He is survived by a wife and three daughters and his funeral will be held today after Friday prayers at Madina Masjid, Talwar II-Clifton, Karachi, family sources said.
