Critics carp about Aishwarya Rai's weight

Bollywood diva, Aishwarya Rai, has lately been criticized for not losing baby weight amid the birth of her first baby girl, Aaradhya. The renowned Indian celebrity has been criticized and compared with the likes of Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham, who lost their weights really quick after giving birth to their children.

Aishwarya Rai has been hugely criticized by her fans after her “double chin” picture came out online. Critics along with fans have passed unsympathetic comments for the B-Town diva with respect to her weight and chubby looks. A video blog of the actress has also been posted on the internet, displaying “before and after” stills along with trumpets and crude elephant honks.

Fans and critics state it is the actress’ duty to remain fit and look good. Aishwarya has responded to this comment by stating that she is enjoying her motherhood.

The average gain in weight during pregnancy is 25-35 pounds and new mothers are strongly asked to wait for 3 months before starting up any strict dieting or exercising practice. As per this, an average woman would take up to 6 months to 12 months to regain her pre-pregnancy weight.

The enhanced weight during the pregnancy is considered to be a good sign for the child as more nutrients are passed onto the child via the umbilical cord. More food in take by the mother would be more beneficial for the child. Hence it is strongly recommended that the mother carries out a good diet during the pregnancy period.

Following birth, quick dieting and exercise routine is also discourages as it may affect breast milk supply for the baby. Hence it is also recommended that mothers should not carry out such dietary plans too quickly. In a study by the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a new evidence has emerged, stating that sudden and dramatic changes in a mother’s weight puts an enormous strain on the body and can harm future babies. This case may well be associated with celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Victoria Beckham, who regained their pre-pregnancy weight within weeks after giving birth to their babies.

Though, Aishwarya may be enjoying her motherhood and the study too favors her life style, the renowned diva should really start thinking about her figure, image and health considering the glamorous media industry to which she belongs.
