Money laundering probe to be initiated against Nawaz
ISLAMABAD: A money laundering probe has been instigated against the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif. The probe has been carried out following the allegations made by Interior Minister Rehman Malik.
While addressing a press conference on Thursday, spokesman and Director for National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Zafar Iqbal, stated that a money laundering probe has been initiated against Nawaz Sharif. He stated that the case would be transparently investigated.
With reference to Rental Power Plant (RPP), Iqbal stated that the statement of Raja Pervez Ashraf, Shaukat Tareen and Liauqat Jatoi have been recorded and that 2 billion rupees have been received from the RPPs in accordance with the Court's order.
Zafar Iqbal further stated that arrest warrants for former OGRA Chairman, Tauqeer Sadiq, have also been issued on the directives of the Court.
