Empty handed Indian team returned home

Team India's fate was hanging on the result of match between host Bangladesh and Sri Lanka match.
The calculation was that India could reach in Final only if Sri Lanka defeat Bangladesh. Sadly for Indian fans, it did not happen.
Earlier, India were last night knocked out of the Asia Cup cricket tournament after minnows Bangladesh continued their giant-killing act by upsetting Sri Lanka by five wickets. Chasing a revised target of 212 after a rain interruption, the spirited hosts held their nerve to make their maiden entry into the summit showdown of the tournament where they will meet Pakistan on Thursday.
Batsmen Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma returned to the west-coat city of Mumbai, to a lukewarm response from fans.

Tendulkar said that the series, where India, Pakistan and Bangladesh had tied on points, had been a very competitive one.

"I thought overall it was good cricket, but all three teams who have won (India, Pakistan and Bangladesh), have won two matches each. It s been a competitive tournament," he said.
Other members of the team, including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, vice captain Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina arrived in New Delhi.
