PIA: Purchase of five Boeing 777 airplanes at $1.5 bl

Boeing and the PIA made public, a steady order of five 777-300 Extended Range airplanes. The planes will be purchased at the list price of $1.5 Billion. This order also opens up further purchase opportunities for the PIA to purchase an additional five 777-300ERs from Boeing International.

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has suffered blows exceeding its withstanding capabilities in the near past; is working on renewing its long-distance plane fleet to accommodate the ever increasing demand of Pakistani people.

“With passenger traffic in our region accelerating, the new 777-300ER airplanes will continue to deliver the highest standards of technology and passenger comfort to our customers,” said Capt. Nadeem Yousufzai, Managing Director of Pakistan International Airlines.

Miguel Santos, Director International Sales of Boeing Commercial Airplanes said, “The 777-300ER is a perfect fit for PIA as it will generate more revenue and carry additional payload, while extending range capability,”

PIA currently operates on 9 777s an addition of five more will make the fleet grow to 14.
