Former Federal Interior Minister Naseerullah Babar has passed away in Peshawar Late on Sunday. He was 82.

The funeral prayers of Naseerullah Babar will be offered today in Nowshera.

On 19 August 2008, Naseerullah Babar suffered a mild stroke and was admitted to a hospital. He recovered and returned home in November 2008.

Major General (retd) Naseerullah Babar was born in 1928 in Ismaeil Khel near Akora Khattak Nowshera, Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa.

Babar was a senior central leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). He served as Governor of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa from 1975-1977.
