Veteran journalist Altaf Hassan Qureshi laid to rest in Lahore
1 min readFuneral prayers for veteran Pakistani journalist, intellectual and founder of Urdu Digest, Altaf Hassan Qureshi, were offered on Sunday at Jamia Ashrafia in Lahore, attended by a large gathering of political, social and religious figures.
Among those attending were Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal and former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
Participants paid tribute to Altaf Hassan Qureshi’s contributions to journalism, intellectual discourse and ideological literature, describing his writings and journalistic work as a source of guidance for future generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik Ahmed Khan expressed condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased’s elevated status in the hereafter.
Altaf Hassan Qureshi was widely regarded as an influential voice in Urdu journalism and literary circles through his longstanding association with Urdu Digest, a publication known for its intellectual and social commentary.
