Police have arrested five suspects, including the main accused, in connection with the murder of Mirza Farhan Baig, the son of retired police clerk Mirza Zulfiqar of Saddar Police Station Okara.

Farhan Baig’s body, bearing signs of torture and tied with ropes, was recovered six days ago from the Lower Bari Doab Canal.

A special police team detained one of the victim’s close friends, who allegedly confessed to the crime along with his accomplices.

According to police, the suspects subjected Farhan Baig to torture over a domestic dispute before killing him.

They later tied his body with ropes and threw it into the canal in an attempt to conceal the crime.

Police carried out raids at multiple locations and arrested five individuals, including the main accused.

Officials said further investigation is underway and more revelations are expected as interrogations continue.
