Suspect arrested for harassing Akshay Kumar’s daughter during online game
1 min readCyber police in India’s Maharashtra state have arrested a suspect for allegedly harassing 13-year-old daughter of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar during an online video game, authorities confirmed.
The victim, Nitara, was targeted in October 2025 while playing an online game, when an unidentified individual sent inappropriate messages and later demanded explicit images, according to officials.
The arrest was made following a complaint filed by the actor after his daughter informed her parents about the incident.
Additional Director General of Police Yashasvi Yadav confirmed the development, saying the suspect was taken into custody after a detailed investigation led by the Maharashtra Cyber Department.
Police said the case came to light when the child promptly reported the incident at home, enabling swift action by authorities.
Speaking during a cyber awareness session, ADG Yadav praised the child’s courage in informing her parents immediately, which significantly helped in resolving the case.
In a previous video statement, Akshay Kumar had highlighted the risks associated with interacting with strangers during online gaming, warning that such situations can escalate into cybercrime.
He urged parents to educate children about online dangers, monitor their digital activities, and foster an environment where children feel comfortable reporting suspicious interactions.
The actor had also earlier called on Maharashtra’s chief minister to introduce cybercrime awareness classes in schools to help prevent such incidents.
