Three people, including two children, were killed during a police operation using a drone against suspected robbers in Saeed Lako village on the outskirts of Khairpur on Thursday, officials and local sources said.

According to police, the drone was deployed as part of an operation targeting alleged robber hideouts in the area.

Sources said the strike resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two children, while investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.

Following the incident, members of the Dharija community staged strong protests and blocked the national highway, bringing traffic to a halt and causing disruption for commuters.

Protesters are demanding a transparent investigation and action against those responsible for the deaths.

Authorities said efforts are underway to control the situation and restore traffic flow.
