Pakistan sealed the T20 series against Australia with a commanding victory in the second match at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, bundling out the visitors for 108 while defending a target of 199.

After winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first but lost opener Sahibzada Farhan early for 17.

Saim Ayub and captain Salman Ali Agha then steadied the innings with aggressive stroke play before Ayub was dismissed at a team total of 72. Babar Azam fell shortly after.

Salman Agha continued to dominate the Australian attack, scoring a fluent 76 to lift Pakistan’s total to 125 before his dismissal.

Wicketkeeper-batter Usman Khan added momentum with a brisk 53, while Shadab Khan scored 28 and Mohammad Nawaz remained unbeaten on nine.

Pakistan finished their innings at 198, setting Australia a challenging target. All Australian bowlers claimed a wicket each, with the exception of Matthew Short.

In reply, Australia struggled from the outset under sustained pressure from Pakistan’s bowlers.

Openers Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head were dismissed with just 22 runs on the board. Josh Inglis fell in the next over, while Matt Renshaw and Cooper Connolly failed to build partnerships.

Cameron Green offered brief resistance but was dismissed in the 11th over, after which Australia’s collapse continued as the team was bowled out for 108.

Pakistan made three changes to their lineup for the match, resting Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi and Salman Mirza.

Faheem Ashraf, Naseem Shah and Usman Tariq were included in the playing XI. Australia recalled captain Mitchell Marsh to their final XI.

Pakistan had won the opening match of the series by 22 runs. With this victory, the hosts have taken an unassailable lead, marking their first T20 series win over Australia in seven years. The final match of the series will be played on Sunday.
