NADRA revises age modification policy for overseas Pakistanis’ NICOP
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has updated its policy regarding age modification in the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), making the process more streamlined and accessible.
Application channels available
To facilitate applicants abroad, NADRA now allows age modification requests through various platforms. Applicants can make changes via the Pak ID mobile application, by visiting the nearest NADRA registration center, or by reaching out to the Pakistani embassy in their country of residence.
- Revised age modification rules
The eligibility and documentation requirements differ based on the nature and number of age changes:
-
Unnatural Age Gap with Siblings (less than 7 months)
- A change of up to one year (366 days) is allowed without requiring any documents.
-
Age Adjustment up to 1 Year (366 days)
- This change is permitted with the submission of an Inland or Foreign Birth Certificate.
-
Second-Time Change (up to 366 days)
- Allowed only once, and requires either a Pakistani or foreign passport, resident permit, or Matric Certificate.
-
Initial Age Modification (up to 5 years)
- Also allowed only once. Applicants must provide one of the following: a Pakistani passport, Matric Certificate, a recent Mark Sheet (issued within 3 years), or a Service Book.
Updated fee structure
NADRA has also revised the fee structure for these modifications, with charges varying depending on the number and type of changes requested.
Applicants are advised to check NADRA’s official channels for fee details relevant to their specific case.
Process
Applicants can initiate their age modification requests through multiple channels, including the Pak ID app, NADRA’s nearest registration center, or by contacting the Pakistani embassy in their respective countries.
It ensures that all modifications are carried out through a transparent and well-regulated process, maintaining the integrity of the system.
