Pakistan has elected to a four-year term on the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), covering the period from 2026 to 2029.

The election occurred during a voting session held by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in New York.

Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN expressed gratitude for the support received from ECOSOC member states.

This election underscores the international community’s confidence in Pakistan’s commitment to combating global drug-related issues.

The statement highlighted Pakistan’s readiness to play a pivotal role in furthering the international agenda for drug control.
