Police arrest killer of young bride in Lahore
A 23-year-old girl was shot dead by unknown assailants on her wedding day in Lahore’s Sundar area, within the limits of Mohlanwal Aziz Colony.
The suspect who killed a girl named Ayesha during a wedding procession in the Sundar area of Lahore yesterday has been arrested. The accused, Ikram, is the brother-in-law of the victim.
According to the police, the suspect Ikram killed Ayesha over a dispute related to a marriage proposal. He fled the scene after committing the crime but was apprehended using modern technology and human intelligence.
Police report that the victim, identified as Aisha, daughter of Habib, was struck in the head by a bullet. Relatives suspected the girl’s brother-in-law.
Ayesha, a 23-year-old, was supposed to marry Falak Sher, a young man from Bhai Pheru, today. His wedding procession was scheduled to arrive at 1 PM. After the Mehndi ceremony last night, Ayesha went to her room to sleep. During the night, early this morning, she was shot and killed. The assailant then threw the pistol in an empty plot next to the house and fled the scene.
Authorities, including police and forensic teams, have started collecting evidence and initiated investigations into the case from multiple angles.

The police also seized the weapon used in the crime. Relatives have stated that the victim’s brother-in-law, Ikram, had suspicious circumstances. After the murder, he pretended to be unwell and disappeared. The family has demanded that the suspect be arrested soon and given a fitting punishment.
Following the police and investigative actions, the body was transferred to the morgue through an Edhi ambulance.
The police have stated that fingerprints have been taken from the murder weapon, and once the report from the post-mortem examination is received, the facts will soon be revealed.
