Iran Condemns “Inhumane and Cowardly” Attack

In a strong statement issued by the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad, the killings were condemned as an “inhumane and cowardly armed attack.” The embassy described terrorism as a persistent threat to peace and stability across the region, attributing such acts to both international terrorist networks and local traitorous elements.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressed deep sorrow over the killings and called on the Iranian government to ensure the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan and other regional nations must develop a united strategy to combat terrorism, ensuring that such acts are prevented in the future.

He also directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately contact the families of the victims and instructed the Pakistani Embassy in Iran to take all necessary steps for the repatriation of the deceased.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office confirmed that it is in constant contact with Iranian authorities to gather more information about the incident that occurred in the Mehrestan area of Sistan-Baluchestan.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Khan stated that an official position will be announced once the full facts of the incident are known.

This tragic event has reignited calls for stronger regional cooperation against terrorism, reminding both countries of the shared risks they face and the need for united action in the face of extremist violence.
