A mother attempted to take her own life after killing three of her children by slitting their throats in Chichawatni, according to police.

Police sources say the woman was suffering from a mental disorder. After slitting the throats of her children, she also ingested poison in an attempt to end her own life.

She was subsequently taken to the hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The police transferred the bodies of the children, named Isha, Sadia, and Furqan, to the hospital and initiated an inquiry into the matter after collecting all evidence from the scene.

The motive behind the murders is currently unknown.
