PM Shehbaz affirms Balochistan’s importance, commitment to development projects
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized that Balochistan is a vital province of Pakistan, stating that the projects being implemented there resonate with the people’s needs.
He noted that the deadly track that claimed thousands of lives is now being transformed into a highway, and Balochistan’s share in the NFC award has been doubled.
Speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony for the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass in Islamabad, the Prime Minister welcomed the ongoing development initiatives, asserting that Islamabad is set to become a hub of progress, beauty, and facilities.
He highlighted extensive expansion and beautification projects in the capital, which have significantly improved traffic flow and enhanced the city’s aesthetic with blooming flowers.
The Prime Minister praised the performance of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, commending the commendable efforts being made to beautify and improve Islamabad.
He remarked that this progress is not just “Shehbaz Speed” or “Mohsin Naqvi Speed,” but rather “Pakistan Speed.”
Furthermore, the Prime Minister announced that collective efforts have led to an improved rating for Pakistan, with the international agency Fitch upgrading the country’s outlook from triple C to B minus, and declaring it stable.
He attributed this success to teamwork and collective endeavors, stating that these efforts have stabilized Pakistan’s economy.
He expressed confidence that the nation is now on a path to development and prosperity, and that the same determination and resilience with which Team Pakistan faced challenges will guide them through the journey of progress.
During the ceremony, Federal Minister for Interior of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, stated that they are committed to completing the underpass project ahead of schedule, aiming to inaugurate it in 35 days instead of the planned 60 days.
He also mentioned that work has commenced to address traffic issues at the Faisal Mosque Chowk and that the parking plaza in Blue Area is being activated.
