PM inaugurates Jinnah Square in Islamabad, shortening daily travel for citizens

The Prime Minister lauded the project's rapid completion in just 72 days, calling it a record

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated Jinnah Square in Islamabad today, hailing the project as a significant improvement to the city’s infrastructure and a testament to ‘efficient governance’. The square, which includes three underpasses connecting Khayaban-e-Suharwardi and Srinagar Highway, is expected to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce air pollution.

In his address at the inauguration ceremony, Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the project’s positive impact on Islamabad’s traffic flow, saving commuters valuable time and fuel. He highlighted the reduction in air pollution anticipated due to decreased traffic jams. “Most importantly, it saves people’s precious time,” he stated.

The Prime Minister lauded the project’s rapid completion in just 72 days, calling it a record achievement. He specifically praised Mohsin Naqvi, commending his leadership and dedication, stating that he had transformed the “Punjab speed” into an even faster “Mohsin speed.” Sharif further emphasized that this rapid completion should be celebrated as an example of how nations can improve their lives.

Sharif expressed his hope that similar development projects would be completed with the same efficiency, aiming to enhance Islamabad’s aesthetics and maintain its beauty. He referenced the positive feedback received from guests during the SCO summit, who praised the city’s beautification efforts. He stressed the importance of maintaining green spaces and floral displays within the city.

The Prime Minister concluded by urging Naqvi to maintain this rapid pace of project completion for future endeavors, including the renovation of older government buildings from the 1960s. He expressed his satisfaction with Naqvi’s attention to this aspect of urban renewal.
