Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has categorically stated that there is no possibility of PTI founder Imran Khan offering any form of apology.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Salman Akram Raja confirmed that arrangements for a meeting with Imran Khan have been finalised.

He emphasised that Khan’s rights would be ensured through mutual agreement. However, a condition has been set that individuals meeting the PTI founder in prison will not discuss the meeting publicly afterwards.

He added that authorities insisted on maintaining a ban on any political statements after the meeting, a condition PTI has agreed to.

While concerns over law and order were raised, Raja asserted that members of parliament would express their stance wherever necessary.

‘An apology is out of the question’

Responding to a question, Salman Akram Raja dismissed any speculation regarding Imran Khan apologising.

“Anyone who thinks the PTI founder will apologise is mistaken — there is no chance of that happening,” he stated.

Dialogue continues with opposition parties

Raja noted that discussions with opposition parties, including JUI-F, Sindh-based parties, and others, were progressing positively.

Condemns March 23 restrictions

The PTI secretary general also criticized the restrictions imposed on party leaders and workers on Pakistan Day, calling them a violation of constitutional rights.

“This was a day of celebration, yet raids were conducted at homes, and even cake-cutting in Lahore was not allowed,” he said.

He further claimed that police disrupted an event he attended by shutting down the sound system. He denounced these actions as an affront to both democracy and decency.

Salman Akram Raja also took aim at MQM, PPP, and PML-N, accusing them of exploiting the current political landscape for their advantage.

He warned that if these parties did not change their approach, meaningful dialogue would not be possible.

Violation of Constitution

PTI founder Imran Khan’s lead lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, has strongly criticised the Islamabad High Court’s decision, calling it a blatant violation of the Constitution and the law.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Chaudhry stated that no court can ban Imran Khan, his family, or others from exercising their right to free speech.

He further warned that if the court’s ruling restricts the public disclosure of Imran Khan’s conversations during jail meetings, he would personally challenge the decision.
