Former Australian cricketer David Warner lashed out at Air India after facing a long delay due to the absence of a pilot on his flight.

According to Indian media, Warner, along with several other passengers, was left stranded on board for hours as the airline failed to provide a pilot for the flight. Expressing his frustration on social media platform X, Warner questioned the airline’s decision to allow passengers to board despite knowing there was no pilot available.

He wrote, “We’ve boarded a plane with no pilots and waiting on the plane for hours. Why would you board passengers knowing that you have no pilots for the flight?”

In response, Air India issued a statement clarifying that the delay was caused by bad weather in Bengaluru, which disrupted multiple flights. The airline also stated that the crew assigned to Warner’s flight was engaged in another duty, leading to further delays.

Air India apologised to Warner and other passengers for the inconvenience.

Warner is not part of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, having gone unsold in last year’s auction in Jeddah.

He remains one of only four batsmen in IPL history — alongside Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma — to have scored 6,000 or more runs in the tournament.
