Ali Amin Gandapur: Mutual distrust must end to build confidence

While the opposition boycotted the Parliamentary Committee on National Security meeting, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur not only attended but also addressed the session.

According to sources, Gandapur spoke about the security challenges facing KP, stating that despite these difficulties, efforts are being made to boost the morale of the police and security forces.

He highlighted the recent salary increase for police personnel and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the province’s security forces.

The KP chief minister expressed concern over the lack of full resource allocation for the merged tribal districts, which has led to various challenges.

Acknowledging the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army, Gandapur praised the military’s extensive efforts in counterterrorism operations in KP and their role in maintaining peace.

He stressed the need to overcome mutual distrust and build confidence among stakeholders.

Without naming anyone, he urged political parties to foster harmony, emphasising that national unity is essential to tackling the country’s challenges.
