Karachi faces intense heat wave as temperatures soar

Experts urge citizens to take precautions amid severe weather conditions

Karachi is currently experiencing extreme heat, characterized by clear skies and intense sunlight. The solar radiation index has risen to 9, indicating harmful conditions for the skin.

The Meteorological Department reports very hot and dry weather, with the temperature recorded at 32 degrees Celsius, but the heat index may feel as high as 40 degrees Celsius.

The ongoing severe heat in the city, along with unclouded skies, has left many residents uncomfortable.

The recorded temperature of 32 degrees Celsius feels like 34 degrees Celsius, and further increases in temperature are anticipated, prompting warnings for residents to exercise caution.

With a radiation index of 9, experts advise that the risk of sunburn and skin cancer has increased. Officials recommend that citizens avoid outdoor activities from 10am to 4pm.

If going outside is necessary, covering the head and body, applying sunscreen, and remaining in shaded areas are highly recommended.
