Ishaq Dar to make first ministerial visit to Bangladesh post-revolution
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is set to conduct his first high-level ministerial visit to Bangladesh.
The visit is scheduled from April 22 to April 24, where he will engage in talks with Bangladesh’s Foreign Adviser, Towheed Hossain.
During this trip, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will meet with the leadership of Bangladesh, with several agreements anticipated to be signed.
A potential pact addressing cooperation against drug trafficking and human smuggling may also be established. Discussions will focus on enhancing trade and economic collaboration between the two countries.
In February 2025, Bangladesh initiated direct trade with Pakistan for the first time since its independence in 1971, marked by the first shipment of 50,000 tons of rice leaving Port Qasim.
This agreement emerged after diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh improved with the formation of an interim government led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus.
