UAE announces Eid Al Fitr holidays
The UAE government has confirmed the holiday dates for Eid Al Fitr for public sector employees. The holiday will begin on Shawwal 1 and conclude on Shawwal 3, 1446 AH, with work resuming on Shawwal 4.
Moon sightings in the UAE are set for March 29 to confirm the date for Eid celebrations. If the crescent moon appears, Eid Al Fitr holidays will begin on Sunday, March 30, providing a four-day holiday from March 29 to April 1, as Saturday is a weekend for most employees.
If the moon is not sighted and Ramadan completes 30 days, the first day of the Eid holiday will change to March 31, resulting in a five-day weekend from March 29 to April 2.
Some public sector employees, particularly in Sharjah, may have a six-day holiday. If Eid occurs on Sunday, March 30, these employees would enjoy a holiday from Friday, March 28 to Tuesday, April 1.
