A massive fire near Karachi’s Sabzi Mandi engulfed dozens of shops, reducing goods worth millions to ashes.

More than a dozen fire brigade vehicles were deployed to contain the blaze.

The fire, which broke out in the morning, destroyed shops selling bamboo, mats, wooden crates, and fruit packaging materials.

Shopkeepers claim they alerted the fire department immediately, but the delayed response led to significant losses.

The chief fire officer confirmed that 14 fire tenders participated in the operation.

The fire spread across three to four acres, completely destroying over 200 shops.

Initially, water shortages hampered firefighting efforts, prompting the Karachi Water Board to declare an emergency for immediate water supply.

Thick smoke blanketed the area as police and Rangers maintained security at the site.
