Fire in Karachi’s Nazimabad food delivery warehouse controlled after eight hours
A fire that erupted in the basement of an online food delivery company’s warehouse in Nazimabad, Karachi, on Tuesday was brought under control after eight hours of intense firefighting efforts.
The incident occurred near the Eid Gah Ground, where the company’s office is located.
Firefighters encountered major difficulties in battling the fire because of thick smoke, which delayed their response for several hours.
At least 10 fire brigade vehicles were sent to the scene to handle the situation.
Rescue officials noted that the warehouse had “poor ventilation, with only one entry point, making it difficult for firefighters to access.”
The warehouse held various food items, such as ghee, oil, and flour.
