Indian media claims martyred scholar facilitated Kulbhushan Jadhav’s arrest
The Indian newspaper Times of India has claimed that martyred Baloch religious scholar Mufti Shah Mir Bizenjo played a key role in the arrest of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.
The same claim has also been reported by NDTV.
According to Indian media, Mufti Shah Mir assisted Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI, in capturing Jadhav.
However, in line with India’s longstanding narrative, these outlets have also alleged that Jadhav was abducted from Iran, with Shah Mir playing a role in the operation.

Mufti Shah Mir was a well-known religious scholar in Balochistan and had previously survived two assassination attempts.
However, on Friday night, he was fatally shot by armed motorcyclists as he exited a mosque after Isha prayers in Turbat. He sustained multiple close-range gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Times of India further accused the scholar — who was associated with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam — of involvement in arms and human trafficking.
Meanwhile, NDTV echoed these allegations, claiming that Shah Mir had covert ties with Pakistan’s ISI.
Indian media also alleged that Shah Mir facilitated the entry of militants into India, though no evidence has been provided to support these claims.
