PM Shehbaz: National progress and prosperity not possible until khawarij are eliminated
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the journey towards national progress and prosperity is impossible without eliminating khawarij terrorists.
He urged all stakeholders to work together instead of pulling each other down.
Speaking at a special session of the federal cabinet marking the government’s first anniversary, the prime minister emphasised the need for collective efforts to move the country forward.
“The economic indicators are positive, and even international financial institutions have acknowledged this progress,” he said.
Despite challenges, he assured the nation that there is no need to panic, emphasising that the opposition has failed to bring forward any corruption scandal over the past year.
Addressing a special federal cabinet meeting on the completion of his government’s first year, the prime minister welcomed and congratulated new cabinet members.

Under this package, Rs5,000 will be distributed through digital wallets, ensuring transparency.
PM Shehbaz also expressed concerns over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, noting that over 50,000 Palestinians have been martyred and condemning the obstruction of humanitarian aid despite ceasefire calls.
On the economic front, he asserted that timely decisions prevented Pakistan from defaulting and that international financial institutions have recognized Pakistan’s improving macroeconomic indicators.
He dismissed past claims that the government had pleaded for loans, stating that for the first time, all state institutions were aligned and working towards national progress without personal interests.
Speaking on national security, PM Shehbaz paid tribute to security personnel who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism.
He recalled that in 2018, Nawaz Sharif had successfully eradicated terrorism, but it resurged due to certain forces.
“Bringing back terrorists is the worst form of treason,” he remarked, stressing that economic prosperity is impossible without eliminating terrorism.
The prime minister expressed gratitude to coalition partners for their support and acknowledged the Army Chief’s role in stabilising the economy.
He noted a decline in inflation and a rise in exports, emphasising that it is time to eradicate political hostility.
“We are not the torchbearers of May 9, but of May 28,” he said, referencing Pakistan’s nuclear tests as a symbol of resilience.
PM Shehbaz reiterated that Pakistan’s progress requires unity rather than internal conflicts.
He stated that no corruption case has surfaced against the government in the past year and expressed optimism for the future, saying, “The day will come when the green passport commands global respect. We will not progress through superstition, but through sheer hard work.”
