King Charles and Queen Camilla surprised everyone with their eagerness to lend a hand in their recent visit to an Indian restaurant in London, the Darjeeling Express, on Wednesday.

The royal couple spent their day engaging with local Muslim communities in preparation for Ramazan, which is expected to start on February 28. The restaurant is owned by British restaurateur Asma Khan.

In the restaurant, Khan helped the King and Queen pack dates to be distributed to local hospitals.

The couple’s efforts were met with admiration, with Khan commenting on the King’s speed in packing the dates. “I didn’t realise the King would be so fast!” she said, prompting laughter from those present.

Later, they joined Khan and her head chef, Asha Pradhan, in the kitchen, where they prepared boxes of biryani for the charity Doorstep, which assists families in securing permanent housing.

Queen Camilla playfully reminded King Charles to focus on their task after he became distracted.

Al Arnab praised the King’s support, highlighting its significance to the Syrian community in the UK.
