Elderly blind man wants to marry American citizen in Karachi
An elderly blind man, Shareef Shirazi, has expressed his desire to marry an American citizen, who has come to Karachi to marry her alleged lover.
Shirazi, 62, who claims to be a South African citizen, has expressed his desire to travel to America with her. The blind man has said that the lady should also provide $50,000 to his family if they agree to marry.
A 33-year-old American woman, Onya Andrew Robinson, from New York, has declined to return to the United States after claiming that she has been deceived by a 19-year-old Pakistani man, Nidal Memon.
Robinson arrived in Pakistan on October 11, 2024, after “being drawn in by Memon’s professed love.”
But after Memon’s parents discovered the significant age difference—Robinson is twice his age they refused to approve the marriage. The family also learned that Robinson had recently divorced and had two sons, leading to further rejection from her partner’s family.
Robinson claims she was stranded for seven days after her visa expired, following Memon abandoning her at the airport.
Despite her ordeal, Robinson has not filed a complaint against Memon. She staged a sit-in in the parking area of the apartments, initially demanding $5,000 but later increasing her request to $20,000 along with Pakistani citizenship.
