American woman lured by love cannot be forced to leave Karachi: US Consulate team
A two-member team from the US Consulate has stated that an American woman, Onya Andrew Robinson, who was lured by love with a Pakistani youth, should not be forced to leave Karachi.
The team arrived at Karachi Airport on Wednesday (today).
During their visit, the consulate representatives were engaged in discussions with airport authorities about the case.
The consulate team also highlighted that sending her from Karachi to the US against her will would be illegal, potentially leading to legal repercussions for the US government and the consulate.
However, airport officials reported that she is currently refusing to leave.
The Interior Ministry had booked her a ticket on a Qatar Airways flight scheduled to depart at 10am on Wednesday (today).

However, immigration sources confirmed that the woman, Robinson, refused to board, and the flight departed at 10:30am.
According to police, the woman had been stranded at Karachi Airport for seven days due to her visa expiring.
After local police contacted the US Consulate in Karachi for assistance, they received no response.
Authorities indicated that she would be provided with a 15-day visa to facilitate her return to the U.S. However, they noted that the woman had not filed any complaint against the young man.
The woman came from New York and arrived in Karachi on October 11, 2024.
